Siona Spillett is experienced in
cross-border litigation, with a focus on
the life sciences and media sectors. She
works alongside clients to find
commercial solutions to a broad range of
disputes, including complex contractual
arrangements and product liability
matters.
In Life Sciences, she regularly advises
pharmaceutical, medical device and
medical equipment manufacturers on
defending product liability claims
(including consumer mass actions) and
complex contractual disputes connected
with R&D, procurement and
cross-border supply chains. For media
clients, she has advised on a wide range
of corporate disputes including breach
of warranty claims, as well as
defamation claims, technology and
licensing disputes, including those
impacted by OFCOM regulation.
In her broader commercial practice, she
regularly advises on complex contractual
disputes and has secured freezing
injunctions (including worldwide) over
assets across Europe and Asia, as well
as representing international clients in
the Commercial Court. She has also been
instructed on both international and
domestic arbitration under the UNCITRAL
and LCIA rules.
Siona regularly speaks on conflict of
law issues, including for the Law
Society of England & Wales and at
Birmingham University. She previously
spent two terms at the Court of Appeal
as the Judicial Assistant to the Master
of the Rolls and, whilst in practice,
achieved a distinction in a Masters
degree in commercial law.
