Leanne has a strong insurance focus with an established reputation as an expert advisor in Financial Lines, Management Liability, and Warranty & Indemnity insurance claims.

Leanne’s practice is particularly well known for her experience in advising on W&I claims - she regularly advises on coverage response across a number of sectors and breach categories.

She also focuses on complex Financial Lines claims, advising clients on policy coverage and the provision of defence monitoring on a global scale. Leanne has significant experience in advising under international D&O policies, including matters involving securities class actions, regulatory investigations, and boardroom fall-outs. As well as D&O, from a broad range of FI matters including Civil Liability and Crime, Leanne has over a decade of experience in advising on coverage issues and strategic defence monitoring.

EXPERIENCE

Various instructions from W&I insurers to advise on Breach/Loss and coverage response in respect of warranty claims relating to: (i) IT software and security; (ii) financial statements and material customers; (iii) IP warranties and related third party litigation; (iv) regulatory and legal compliance, particularly in respect of Targets operating in healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors; and (v) condition of assets.
Provision of coverage and monitoring advice under a D&O policy with notifications to multiple years of account, relating to an individual subject to criminal prosecution.
Appointed by sell-side W&I insurers to provide coverage advice and defence monitoring of a significant breach of warranty claim, securing a discontinuance of the underlying claim and complete recovery of insurers' indemnity outlay.
Instructed by insurers to advise on coverage under insurer E&O policies relating to significant bad faith claims against insurer policyholders, as well as working together with DLA US colleagues for ongoing defence monitoring and claim assessment.
Engaged by primary layer insurers to provide coverage and monitoring advice under a global D&O programme in relation to numerous securities claims and regulatory investigations in the Netherlands, Germany and South Africa involving a sizeable number of insured entities and persons, with total claims value placed at c.EUR 12bn.
Engaged by London market insurers across multiple layers to advise on coverage of claims made under FI Comprehensive Crime insurance policies relating to fraud associated with alleged employee dishonesty.
