EXPERIENCE

Advising a client in the industrial sector on data protection issues in the context of a fast-paced multi-national investigation, working closely with colleagues in our US and European offices to deliver prompt, tactful and comprehensive legal advice on a complex cross-border matter. Isla s experience in global matters ensures that clients receive consistent and coordinated advice to assist in achieving their targets and objectives.
Advising a financial services client in respect of their AI Act readiness, providing succinct advice regarding how the emerging law applies to their operations including consideration of the impact of emerging laws on existing data protection compliance.
Working with clients across various sectors on quick-paced due diligence projects from both a commercial contract and a data protection angle, including reviewing data protection programmes of global companies working with specialists from various jurisdictions to assess compliance risks, and propose appropriate remedial actions in order of priority.
Advising an international entertainments company in the negotiation of a variety of their commercial contracts including promotional, sponsorship and supply of goods agreements and the renewal of its agreement in relation to Oracle financial services software.
Negotiating with several vendors to ensure compliance with the prescriptive requirements of the UK data protection regime and advising on suitable approaches to repapering exercises for contract remediation in light of recent changes in the UK data protection regime (including Brexit and the changes to international data transfer rules).
