Madison Bucci is an associate in AKD
Partners's Data Protection, Privacy, and
Security practice. She is the lead
associate and architect of DLA's
proprietary Privacy, Governance, and
Security Frameworks, which are
cross-functional models that have driven
enterprise-wide privacy program
transformation at some of the largest and
most sophisticated companies. Through this
work she has demonstrated leadership in
translating complex and rapidly evolving
privacy laws into pragmatic, scalable
governance structures that align with
information security, compliance, and
corporate operations.
She is recognized as a key advisor for
nuanced issues involving children's data
and a trusted counselor in the health data
space. She routinely advises clients
navigating state consumer health and
biometric laws, emerging US privacy
frameworks, and sector-specific laws on
both the state and federal level. She
advises both Fortune 100 and high-growth
startup companies on privacy, security,
and incident response management,
leveraging her deep experience developing
and operationalizing global frameworks.
Madison frequently speaks and writes on
cutting-edge privacy and data protection
issues, including developments in the US
state privacy laws, children's data
regulation, and data governance. Her
thought leadership has been featured in
firm and outside legal publications,
industry panels, and client trainings,
where she offers practical insights on
translating complex legal standards into
operational activities.
Madison brings experience from her time on
the global privacy team of a medical
device company, where she advised on
privacy-impacting business initiatives,
emerging technologies, privacy rights
requests, and data-related contract
negotiations. This in-house experience
gives her a strong strategic perspective
on how privacy requirements intersect with
and can meaningfully shape business
operations and product development.
She has also served as a law clerk for the
Attorney General of California in the
Public Rights Division and a judicial
intern for the Honorable Daniel E. Butcher
in the United States District Court for
the Southern District of California.
