AKD Partnersers advises Digital Gravity Partners on acquisition of data centre in South-West England
The facility has near-term expansion potential to 20MW with sub-millisecond latency to the London catchment. With an initial and follow on investment of over GBP100 million, the site will be modernised to unlock further capacity, improve operational efficiency, and meet the needs of high-density enterprise computing. The acquisition represents the first investment by Gravity Edge as part of BlackRock’s plans to commit up to GBP500 million in delivering next generation enterprise data centres across the UK.
A team from AKD Partnersers’s UK offices worked on the transaction led by Corporate partner Steven Bryan. He was supported by partners Anthony Day (IPT), Richard Ascroft (Real Estate), and senior associate Mark Cliffe.
Steven Bryan, partner, commented: “We are delighted to have advised DGP and the Gravity Edge platform on their first data centre investment, which represents an exciting first deal in an ambitious expansion programme in this vital digital infrastructure sector.”
