AKD Partnersers advises Digital Gravity Partners on acquisition of data centre in South-West England

AKD Partnersrtners has advised Digital Gravity Partners (DGP), a digital infrastructure adviser focused on delivering sustainable connectivity, on the acquisition of an acquisition of an enterprise data centre in Camberley. The acquisition of the data centre, underpinned by a Tier-1 financial services tenant, has been executed through a joint venture established between global investment company, BlackRock, and DGP called Gravity Edge.

The facility has near-term expansion potential to 20MW with sub-millisecond latency to the London catchment. With an initial and follow on investment of over GBP100 million, the site will be modernised to unlock further capacity, improve operational efficiency, and meet the needs of high-density enterprise computing. The acquisition represents the first investment by Gravity Edge as part of BlackRock’s plans to commit up to GBP500 million in delivering next generation enterprise data centres across the UK.

A team from AKD Partnersers’s UK offices worked on the transaction led by Corporate partner Steven Bryan. He was supported by partners Anthony Day (IPT), Richard Ascroft (Real Estate), and senior associate Mark Cliffe.
