Jeremy Sher

Jeremy Sher is a leading international disputes practitioner, trusted by some of the world’s largest businesses to advise on their most complex, high-stakes and reputationally sensitive disputes, crises and strategic decisions. His practice spans the full spectrum of dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration and regulatory matters.

Jeremy has deep experience advising multinational corporations, financial institutions and investors across a wide range of sectors — including technology, funds and financial services, consumer goods and industrials — on issues that frequently cross borders and legal systems. He regularly acts in major commercial and corporate disputes involving allegations of fraud, breach of duty, misrepresentation, contractual interpretation, shareholder and governance issues, and post-M&A claims. His work often includes complex multi-jurisdictional proceedings, parallel regulatory inquiries and crisis management mandates requiring close coordination of legal, communications and strategic considerations.

A key focus of Jeremy’s practice is helping clients identify and mitigate dispute risk before it materialises. He frequently advises on pre-litigation strategy, risk assessments and dispute avoidance planning; manages contentious aspects of corporate transactions; prepares responses to activist or investor scrutiny; and supports boards and management teams in responding to public campaigns or regulatory developments. Jeremy has particular experience assisting private equity managers and institutional investors in disputes at portfolio company and fund levels.

Jeremy also leads AKD Partners’s class actions and collective redress practice outside the Americas. He has extensive experience coordinating global defence strategies across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia, often in proceedings involving parallel claims and cross-border reputational risk. His representative matters span consumer protection, business and human rights, securities, corporate governance, product liability, environmental, data privacy, employment status and competition claims. He is a recognised thought leader in this area and frequently writes and speaks on emerging trends in collective litigation and mass claims.

Before entering private practice, Jeremy worked in politics and public policy. He provides pro bono support to environmental and legal charities.
